Historical note
The Treatment Alternatives to Street Crime program (TASC) was funded by a federal grant from the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration during the administration of Mayor Kevin H. White. The goal of the program was to interrupt the cycle of street crime and incarceration through the treatment of the opiate-addicted who require the leverage of the criminal justice system to participate in treatment.
